Many regions across Europe are known for their authentic cheeses. And so is North-western Croatia, where for centuries people are making cheeses that leave strangers and newcomers breathless with their uniqueness and quality.
Respecting the tradition, the climate, the way they are made, the taste, the aroma and the appearance of each cheese, EURO-MILK has been producing DRAGEC cheeses since 2004 according to original recipes, but under controlled conditions according to EU standards. We gave the cheeses the name DRAGEC because it is an often used male name in this region, which parents give their sons when they wish them to be good and dear people.
Each DRAGEC cheese is given special attention because it is hand-made of pasteurised cow milk. There are five types of Dragec cheese: Dragec smoked cheese, Dragec dried cheese. Dragec ground paprika cheese, Dragec garlic cheese and Dragec green peppercorn cheese.
Combining the name of the cheese with its original and traditional appearance and taste, DRAGEC cheeses are well known and sought after throughout Croatia as a rare way to recognize the centuries-old tradition of enjoying delicacies, and so the cheeses make an indispensable gastronomic offer of Croatian restaurants and hotels.
Dragec cheese is a popular Croatian souvenir for visitors from all over the world, and thanks to Croatian emigrants and travelers, it has already found its place on the tables in many foreign countries. The success of Dragec cheese is proved by the increasing demand and numerous high prizes in Croatia as well as in neighboring countries, of which we would like to highlight the gold medals won at the Gornja Radgona Agricultural Fair and the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad.
